Less than a year after the first season of Amazon’s TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power hit our screens, news of another upcoming LOTR TV series has surfaced. Plus, Warner Bros has confirmed they are indeed planning to reboot Peter Jackson’s original Lord of the Rings films. So, what can we expect to see on our screens over the next few years?

Here’s a list of every upcoming Lord of the Rings movie and TV series:

1. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (animated film) - Release date: April 12, 2024
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (TV series) - Season 2 - Release date: Late 2024
3. Untitled Lord of the Rings films (reboot) - Release date: TBA

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is an animated film that will tell the story of Helm Hammerhand, the ninth King of Rohan, and the events that led to the creation of Helm’s Deep. The film is being directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is a TV series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video in September 2022. The series is set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings. The second season of the series is expected to be released in late 2024.

The untitled Lord of the Rings films are a reboot of Peter Jackson’s original Lord of the Rings trilogy. The films are being developed by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. No release date has been announced yet.
