Argentina Advance To Copa America Final After Martinezs Heroics

Argentina Advance to Copa América Final after Martínez's Heroics

Penalty Shootout Victory over Colombia

Argentina 3 | Colombia 2 (2-4 on penalties)

Emiliano Martínez has been the hero for Argentina, saving three penalties in Tuesday's Copa América semi-final shootout to secure a 3-2 victory over Colombia and send his team to the tournament's final.

After the teams were locked at 0-0 after 90 minutes and extra time, the game went to penalties, and it was Martínez who proved to be the difference maker. The Aston Villa goalkeeper denied Juan Cuadrado, Davinson Sánchez, and Edwin Cardona from the spot, while Lautaro Martínez, Leandro Paredes, and Rodrigo de Paul all converted their penalties for Argentina.

The victory means Argentina will now face Brazil in Saturday's Copa América final at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
